We went camping this weekend at Duck Creek, with our good friends the Cranney's. Here are some pics of the different things that we did.
Here is when we first got there and we were setting up camp.
And here of course is running to the potty, this we did a lot!
When we got back from the potty the men had set up our tents and we were so very excited!
Cole just liked being out in the open wilderness.
All the kids helped gather fire wood while lunch was being made, they were so good at it!
After lunch we went to the ice caves and hiked around. Here is Jake helping Emma into the cave, it was a really steep drop.
After the ice caves we went and hiked around the Mammoth caves. It was great this drop was not as steep and everyone was able to get in. It was great, we got all the kids in and just wandered around until we got to a part that you have to crawl through. Since we had two babies and 4 other kids we decided to go back and not crawl to the end. But of course my little Emma crawled right through the mud, so the dads went after her. She just kept going even when she had to take her shoes off and keep going to the end. They got really far and then turned back to come be with the rest of us. Here is a pic of Emmas feet when she finally made it out.The boys followed Emma and Suzy and I did what we could to get all the other kids out of the cave. It was hard and I really did not think that we would make it, but we did great!
Here is a pic that we took while still inside the cave.
Here are some of the pics that we took outside of the cave while we were waiting for the boys and Emma to finish.
Brandon just looked so cute sitting on the rocks.
Cole still loving the wilderness, he is so inquisitive.
Here is Emma after we cleaned her up. She was just getting her socks back on and just lounging around.
Soon we started to make dinner, which turned out so great. Here are all the kids helping make the peaches cake. They loved helping but really were not to sure about the cake.
So we roasted marshmallows and had smores. It was so fun. We sat around the campfire and told stories and went to bed. Later that night we had two babies that did not want to sleep, a little one that got sick and started throwing up, and a little one that had to go poop in the middle of the night. So the next morning we decided to forget breakfast and just go home because we were so exhausted. It was a really fun trip and I am really glad to be home!
